Miami Beach to Brickell is fifty minutes of causeway at six in the evening, and twelve minutes of open water. Fort Lauderdale to Miami is an hour and a half of highway, and under an hour by sea. The water is right there and almost nobody uses it, because using it means calling a charter company the day before, describing your plan, receiving a quote, and paying a deposit.
That is the part we removed. You open the application, you say where you are and where you are going, and the captains who are already in the water around you answer. You see the boat, the person, their rating, and their price before you commit to anything.

Say where you are going
Pick your dock and your destination on the map, the hour, and how many of you there are. Children count, and so does luggage.
Read the answers
Each captain answers with their boat, their price and their arrival time. Nothing is imposed and nothing is automatic: you are choosing a person, not a slot.
Confirm and get your code
Your card is held, not charged. A four-digit boarding code appears. It is the proof that the right person is getting on the right boat.
Follow, board, arrive
You watch the boat come to you on the map. You give the code on board. The trip starts. You are charged when you arrive, not before.

How much does a crossing cost?
There is no set fare. Each captain answers your request with their own price, and you choose among the answers. Price depends on the distance, the boat, the hour and how busy the day is. You see the full amount before you confirm, and it does not change afterwards.
When am I charged?
Your card is held when you confirm, and charged when you arrive. If the captain cancels, or the weather does, the hold is released and nothing is taken.
Do I need a licence?
No. A professional captain is at the helm for the whole crossing. You are a passenger.
What happens if the sea is bad?
The captain decides, and only the captain. A trip cancelled for weather costs you nothing, with no penalty on either side. It is written that way on purpose: we never want a captain to go out because cancelling would cost them.
Who are the captains?
Independent professionals who already work on the water, with their own licence, their own boat and their own commercial insurance. We check those three things before anyone receives a single request. They are not our employees and they keep their own customers.
Can I bring luggage, or a dog?
Luggage yes, within what the boat takes; say how much when you ask, so the captain can answer honestly. For an animal, ask in the message before confirming: it is the captain's call, not ours.
